Life was kicking my a$$ for a little bit but I’m back and better than when I left! I’ll save those details for another post. Today, I wanted to talk to you guys about something I’ve been struggling with since I had Dominic in 2016. Girl, yes you read that right. Since 2016! I’ve always struggled to lose stubborn belly fat after my C-Section and the weight gain from my pregnancy. I’d always see a little progress here and there. But, it was never enough where I felt like yeah “insert routine” will finally get rid of my belly fat.

I’m the first to admit that I’m far from a fitness enthusiast. I never really cared much about fitness or eating healthy in my early twenties. S/O to my family’s genetics for that haha. My diet used to consist of anything with bacon, cheese, and/or wine. Yet, I still was a size 4/6 and could squeeze into those cute bondage material BCBG dresses. This all changed after I became a mom. My body changed as well as my lifestyle. Being a stay-at-home-mom didn’t exactly scream “active lifestyle” which made my diet even more important. Apple Cider Vinegar Is Your Friend

Adding ACV to my diet has to be one of the most effective, if not THE most effective, changes that I’ve made to my diet recently. ACV is amazing at targeting that stubborn post-baby belly fat even years later like in my case. If you’ve never had ACV before, in its natural form ACV tastes bitter for the most part. The beauty about ACV is that there are endless ways to add it to your diet and it comes in so many flavors.

I’ve tried taking ACV gummy vitamins before but they didn’t do much for me. Adding 3 TBSPs of liquid ACV to half of a glass of water every morning has proven to be way more effective for my body and belly fat loss goals. Choose which way works best for you and your preferences. Just make sure you’re making it a staple for your daily diet to tackle that stubborn fat.

Supplements Are Life-Changing

Before you start taking supplements, please do the research! What may work for my body and lifestyle could have the exact opposite results for you. And vice, versa. Be mindful of allergies especially. With that being said, I am officially a believer in supplements now. I recently started taking liquid chlorophyll daily and have seen such a difference. There are SO many benefits to taking liquid chlorophyll, especially for stubborn belly fat. Start looking into adding supplements to your daily diet. This ensures that you still keep your body on track even when you’re having days where you fall behind or cheat on your new healthy lifestyle changes.

Increase Water Intake

I know what you’re thinking. This tip is FAR from rocket science. You’ve probably heard this a million times. Well, now you’re hearing it for the millionth and one time. Start just increasing the amount of water you’re drinking every day. Just adding an extra bottle of water here and there could make a difference, especially in the hotter months like now.

It can be so easy to tell yourself that you’re going to accomplish a huge lofty goal such as drinking a gallon of water a day. But depending on your level of discipline, this may not be the most realistic goal to maintain over time. I know this busy mama here can’t afford to fit those kinds of pee breaks into my daily schedule. Squeeze maintainable smaller water intake goals into your lifestyle to build yourself up to the larger goals. The more water that you intake, the faster you’ll be able to see a difference in your tummy area.

Add Greens When Possible

This tip is kind of like the last one. When you tell yourself, I need to “eat healthy” only or only “eat salads”, your mind naturally starts to feel like you’re being “restricted”. I know I begin to feel like I’m on punishment which makes me crave all of the foods I should avoid eating even more. To stay clear of this slippery slope, change your mindset. Simply tell yourself to add greens when possible to any meal you can.

For example, this mama LOVES some rice. I’m still a work in progress and haven’t fully gotten rid of it from my diet. For meals where I have starch, I make sure to include a side item like sauteed spinach. This way, I’m always intaking greens in some way shape or form. Train your mind to do the same.

Meal Plan!

A meal plan doesn’t have to necessarily mean super complex meal plans like the ones fitness gurus swear by. Sometimes, it’s just finding meals that work for your schedule, budget, and taste buds. When you take all of the thinking out of eating healthier, it becomes easy to just focus on actually eating it. This makes sure you’re hitting your target health goals consistently.

Consistency goes a LONG way toward tackling belly fat. This is one of the steps I’ve struggled with the most on my health journey. I’d have great days of eating these time-consuming healthy meals. You know those IG picture-worthy meals. The minute I experience an emergency or my schedule is altered, I’d either forget to eat or consume something that I know is 100% not diet-friendly. Ever since I’ve started focusing on consistency and not complicating my meals, I’ve begun to see a difference in the mirror and in how my clothes fit.
