Anxiety is something that we all experience at some point in life. This could be situational anxiety triggered by a stressful time in your life or maybe a major upcoming event (think that major job interview you’ve been waiting for). If you’re like me, anxiety is something that you have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. Anxiety has the ability to affect our body, mind, and especially our emotions. Some people get prescriptions to monitor the effects of anxiety to ensure it doesn’t interfere with their life. Personally, I’m not convinced that prescriptions would be the best treatment of anxiety for me. This led me to search for natural ways to relieve anxiety. If you’re interested in learning more about natural alternatives for anxiety, keep reading.

Practice Yoga

Yoga is a great way to relieve anxiety and reduce stress. I’ve tried yoga a few times at different times in my life. Yoga isn’t the easiest workout for me but it does help my stress and anxiety. I tend to feel the tension from anxiety in my neck and back when I start to feel anxiety. Yoga allows me to stretch the tension out so it’s not worsening throughout the day. If you’re looking for a way to relieve the physical effects of your anxiety, yoga is your new best friend.

Meditation

I have yet to master meditation. My mind is always filled with racing thoughts making meditation hard as can be for me. If you’re great at focusing your mind, meditation is a great alternative for you. All you need is about 5-10 minutes a day to be effective. Meditation is also great for situational anxiety. Do you have a big test coming up? Maybe a major interview for that job you always wanted? Meditation would help calm your nerves and reduce your anxiety to ensure you put your best foot forward.

Journaling

Writing in a journal can be a great way to relieve anxiety. The journaling process allows you the opportunity to work through your anxious feelings. Sometimes, all you need is to purge the feelings and get them out in the open. Are you anxious that your relationship is going through a hard time? Or maybe you feel as if your friend is pulling away from you? Writing down your anxious feelings about situations like this allows you to acknowledge and let go of these anxious feelings.

Crystals To Relieve Anxiety

I’m a HUGE fan of having crystals in your house and on your person. Each crystal has specific properties that can help with anxiety, depression, manifestation, love, and more. My family thinks it’s just a bunch of hoopla that doesn’t make a difference. I’m sure plenty of other people feel the same way. I certainly disagree. During the pandemic, my anxiety was at an all-time high. Purchasing crystals and placing them through the house started to relieve my anxiety. I did my research on which crystals helped and made sure to have contact with them daily. Some people recommend placing the crystals on your person (ex. your necklace) or in your purse. Crystals are another natural way to relieve anxiety and you can even begin to use them for other major milestones in your life.

Hypnosis

I know you’re probably like hypnosis isn’t something you hear about every day. Well, at least I don’t. The random mention on one of my favorite TV shows is about the most I’ve heard about it. Hypnosis may be out of the norm but it’s actually very effective especially with anxiety. The hypnotist has the ability to guide your mind to relaxation by using calming words and phrases. I’d recommend hypnosis for people who struggle with controlling their anxious thoughts. The hypnotist may even note ways to cope with the anxiety such as mentioning the natural alternatives I’ve listed above. It’s a natural but effective way to deal with your anxiety. This method would be a great alternative for those who have struggled with managing their anxiety for a long time.
