PIN IT FOR LATER:
Before I really looked up clean beauty, I always thought it was for people who had the $$$ for those exclusive expensive products. As a mama on a budget with a growing toddler/future athlete, there is very little room in my budget to splurge on fancy beauty products. Thankfully, times have changed. Clean beauty isn’t exclusive to people with high budgets or specific to certain products. There are ways to clean up your beauty regimen without breaking the bank.
Get Rid of Toxic Beauty Products
You’re probably wondering how to find out which of the beauty products in your home are toxic. Don’t worry, I got you. There is an app called Think Dirty that will grade the beauty products you have and let you know which are toxic. Sounds simple, right? From there, you can start to look up clean beauty alternatives for products you had to throw up.

Use Natural Alternatives
There are budget-friendly ways to clean up your beauty regimen. For example, moisturize with Vitamin E oil instead of toxic beauty moisturizers. I’ve struggled with dry skin and eczema most of my life. This means, that I’ve always had to buy those special moisturizers which always cost an arm and a leg. Switching to Vitamin E oil as my main moisturizer has been the most effective for my dry skin and the healthiest choice ultimately saving me about 60% off my regular cost of moisturizer. Research healthier alternatives to your beauty needs which may end up saving you money.
Filter Your Water
I’m absolutely horrible at remembering quotes. But, you know that saying “what you put in your body is what you get out“? It’s not just a saying. It really is important. There are so many toxins in tap water and even some in bottled water. Avoid putting toxins in your body by filtering your water. Thankfully, this could be as simple as adding a filter to your faucet or purchasing a filtered water dispenser.
