…;Heyyyy yall! Missed me? I know I’ve been missing you guys like crazy. Between balancing being a working mom, hubby’s military school, taking care of Dom and still doing my SAHM duties, this mama has been SWAMPED! Matter of fact, that’s an understatement. I have no clue how I’ve been pulling everything off without being late to work, slacking with hubby or the little one, or still being able to have a social life. If I was honest, everyday I think about quitting my job and just taking a nap for a day or two. I finally was able to weasel some vacation time. Last week, I took a road trip to Houston for a family summer vacation and we stayed at the Houston Marriott West Loop.
Keep reading to hear about why I’m loving everything about our hotel stay!
Family Summer Stay at Houston Marriott West Loop
Last-minute, my New York family (mom, siblings + grandma) decided to come visit Houston for our yearly family summer vacation. My sister lives in Houston with her family and my adorable infant nephew. It’s been a few months since I’ve seen my family and even longer since I’ve had a vacation. So, it was perfect timing for me to do a three-hour drive to Houston. Houston is the last major city on my bucket list to explore before we leave Texas. My mom decided on the Houston Marriott West Loop as our hotel for this vacation and I was pleasantly surprised!
My mother and my son absolutely loved the beds. So much so, that they both spent the first night snoring from such amazing sleep. You can imagine how distracting to my sleep it was to hear a chorus of snoring haha. But, their snoring is a testament to how comfortable the beds were at the hotel. If anything, my mom stated that ” this sleep was better than the sleep she got at home”. If that’s not a thumbs up, I have no clue what is.
Dominic was addicted to their view. We were only 9 floors up but the view felt like we were on the 20th floor. Every time we entered the room, Dominic would run to the window and stare at the cars. I’m not going to lie. It was a bit nerve-wracking to watch Dominic so close to the window so high up. But, he was obsessed with the view and looking at it myself. I could surely understand why.

Dining at The Marriott Houston West Loop
One of my favorite things about this hotel– Starbucks in the lobby!! All my travelers understand the importance of a good cup of coffee in the morning. Don’t get me wrong. I’m grateful for everything a continental breakfast provides. It’s helped me on a great deal of road trips. But this mama, definitely has an appreciation for a cup of Starbucks coffee that can wake me up in a few sips lol.
After a night with Dominic and my mom snoring, it was a MUST that I got a cup of coffee STAT. Somehow, a cup of coffee turned into breakfast for all of us. The Houston Marriott West Loop has a restaurant downstairs for guests right by their Starbucks location. Can I let you in on a secret? Breakfast was ahmazing! Seriously, no lie. I’m not sponsoring this post or being paid or anything. Their breakfast had my stomach feeling Bueno by its end.
We saw a couple sitting across the way in the restaurant that were being served their food. The lady had a dish with avocado. And, the husband had this dish that looked delicious from a far. Stacked high and filled with food. That’s my kind of meal. My mom was in the mood for some avocado so she told the waitress.According to her,her breakfast was really good. But, I’d never order a sandwich just for a topping
Just a random cute picture of Dominic exploring 🙂
I couldn’t resist just showing Dominic on this absolute adorable chaise. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love. I guess Dominic fell in love with this chair too because he somehow turned it into his little play chair. This chaise looks like it was just meant to be in my bedroom. If only my wallet agreed LOL.

The interior decorator behind this hotel knew what they were doing when the red back light was added to the bar. At night, it looks so chic! I wish I could have gotten a better pictures for you guys. If this wasn’t a family vacay, I’d definitely have had a drink (or two lol) soaking up this chic decor.
Let’s just take a moment to admire this beautiful picture! I don’t know if you guys know this about me but I LOVE mirrors. Like if you could see my house, my living room is filled with mirror based decor. So of course, I fell in love with this. There is just something so beautiful about seeing mirrors within decor designs to me.
The Houston Marriott West Loop shares a building with a few businesses on the opposite side of the building. As I had to pass it to get to the parking garage, I couldn’t help but notice their decor. It’s professional but still very chic and cute. The geometric shapes of the furniture just adds a splash of style to the design. I wouldn’t mind having a quick coffee meeting or waiting for a seminar in this cute meeting area.
To me, this was the most unique part of their interior design. I can honestly say I’ve never come across this type of style. I wish I would have remembered to take a picture with it. It’d would have been the best backdrop for this post. Maybe next time?! Because I’ll definitely be going back when I’m in the Houston area.
“Family Summer Stay at Houston Marriott West Loop” Recap
PIN IT FOR LATER:
It was so refreshing to find a hotel that I had zero complaints about! The first day we arrived, half of my family was in another hotel. That experience definitely wasn’t pleasant considering the amount of money it was draining our pockets. The Houston Marriott West Loop provided a 3.5 star experience on a 2.5 star budget. I’m always down for getting more than I paid for and this hotel provided just that 🙂
