My skin has been a hot mess the past couple of months. It’s been SUPER dry. I even had a pimple breakout for a couple of weeks. Mind you, I NEVER have breakouts. I don’t know what’s going on. It could simply be that I’m nearing the end of my twenties and mama’s not a young girl anymore. Or, it could be that my skin isn’t a fan of this NYC cold weather. Matter of fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s both. All that matters is I can’t walk around looking like pimply Anne for the remainder of the winter. Keep reading for some of my go-to easy winter skin care tips sure to moisturize and clear up any winter dry skin.
Easy Winter Skin Care Tips For Dry Skin
PIN IT FOR LATER:
1. Stay hydrated!
Hydration is so important during the winter season. The cold weather will take a toll on the most hydrated skin. So, I’d definitely suggest avoiding dehydration at all costs. No one wants to literally feel their skin cracking because they’ve decided to only drink alcohol and soda daily. Up your water intake and your skin will definitely thank you! Plus, who wouldn’t want the youthful skin glow that water brings? I’m out here trying to look 18 for the next twenty years haha!

2. Moisturize! Moisturize! You Need To Moisturize!
This is one of my biggest issues and one of the most important winter skin care tips. I’m like one of the laziest people ever after I get out of the shower. But, winter is no joke to be lollygagging with the moisture. I’d suggest after each shower, you immediately use your choice of moisturizer or body oil so the moisture can lock in. I don’t know about you. But, the first five minutes are crucial for me.

3. Say “No” to Long Hot Showers
I love a good long hot shower as much as the other woman. Heck, my husband swears my skin must be Teflon because I love my shower water super hot! There is just something so relaxing about getting some time to think and wind down from a long day in a hot shower. Long hot showers may be great for self-care but they are horrible for dry skin in the winter. Personally, I could never take a warm or cold shower. That’s just never going to happen. I do limit the time of my showers to make sure I’m not aggravating my already dry winter skin. Do your skin a favor and make this a priority for your winter skin care tips.
4. Invest In Quality Products
Quality doesn’t always have to mean break the bank. There are plenty of budget-friendly skin care products that are good quality. Heck. I’d never suggested going broke trying to follow my winter skin care tips. You’ll want to look for products that promote deep moisture and caters to dry skin. My mom laughs at all of my products but they come in handy. Face masks, foot masks, Vitamin E body oil are just some of the quality products you should add to your regular moisture routine.
