If you guys have been following me for a while, then you know that I became a first-time mom in 2016 with the birth of my son, Dominic. As amazing as this journey has been for our family and my life, this mom’s body has definitely suffered. Trying to lose weight has become totally frustrating for me. Who knew baby weight is the most stubborn of them all? Luckily, I heard about the keto diet. After doing a bit of research on the keto diet, I decided I would like to start a keto diet.
If you’re on the fence about starting this diet or just curious about my reasonings, keep on reading.
5 Reasons Why I Decided To Start A Keto Diet
Fatty Foods Are My Weakness
Cheese! Omg, cheese! Honestly, cheese has to be my absolute favorite food. Anything cheesy has already wormed its way into my heart. Thankfully, the keto diet doesn’t penalize my love of cheese. I’m able to eat all the fatty food I love as much as possible without stressing that I’m going to double my mommy weight. The keto diet is a high-fat diet which is perfect for me.
Carbs Don’t Do Well With My Body
Potatoes are my second love. Don’t get me started on any kind of bread. As much as I love carbs, they immediately go to my stomach and lower body. Mamas you know, our stomach can make or break how our body looks in tight fitted clothing. I’m super short ( 4’11 over here!) so baggy clothing will just make me look larger and a bit stumpy. Both are a no-no. Hence, why I decided to start a keto diet. Keto is primarily low carb requiring a daily consumption limit of no more than 30 carbs.
I Was Sick Of Attempting Juicing
I bought a juicer. Babe already had a blender. I’ve tried to add a bit of juice to the juicing smoothies. All only made a small difference. While it’s not horrible, it’s definitely an adjustment for my taste buds. When you’re sipping on a juice blend and your husband is over there eating some great smelling food, it’s VERY hard to stay focused. Keto at least gives me some wiggle room for recipes and different tastes making it easier to stay committed.
It Allows Me To Still Drink Wine!
Alright now, let’s get to the important part. Haha! But seriously, every once in a while I enjoy winding down with a glass of wine. Probably, more than once in a while LOL. But, either way, keto allows the consumption of dry wines and certain alcohols in moderation.
The Amazing Results I’ve Heard About
When I heard about the keto diet, I was a bit skeptical. My husband was as well! Shoot, he’s still a bit skeptical and I’ve already started the diet. Before I decided to start a keto diet, I joined a few keto FB groups. There was nothing but positive reviews and results in shorter time spans than I’ve ever seen. People of different sizes with different weight loss goals were seeing progress and that’s what mattered most to me.
Ultimately, I want to lose about 30 pounds. I’m hoping the keto diet gets me started on the right track with this goal. So far, I’ve already witnessed a loss in inches and weight and I’ve been the laziest keto dieter ever. I’m ready to see what will my results become while I take it seriously.
