Cue the Fireworks! No literally! It’s that time of the month. 4th of July! All historical context of the holiday aside, this holiday is a perfect excuse to spend some time with your loved ones in the sun. Happily, I spent my holiday with my family. Sometimes it’s the little things that matter. Lately, there has been so much going on. I appreciate being able to just take a step back and enjoy the people who have my heart. Keep reading for my style details + our family’s day in a nutshell.

Sooooo.. what did I do? The morning was spent poolside reading a book, Secrets of Six- Figure Women. I’m not really a pool girl. Pretty sure it has something to do with my inability to swim LOL. But, this relaxing time was definitely needed. There should be some more of it on the schedule for this summer. All work + no play leaves Taty turning into a lunatic haha.

Later on, I spent the evening with babe at a local carnival celebrating the country’s independence. The little munchkin was sleeping so peacefully. We didn’t have the heart to wake him. Plus.. who turns down date night?!

My style has been pretty minimal since having the baby. With my body changing all the time,  it’s hard to find flattering clothes. This cute dress was ONLY $8 bucks at Old Navy yesterday. I’d suggest this dress have some bold accessories to complete the outfit. If I would have known, I would have bought an accessory or two when purchasing the dress. Either way for $8, who can complain?! I threw my Marc Jacobs sling purse together with my Forever 21 casual sneakers.

My feet are so happy I wore sneakers to the carnival. I was able to walk around and genuinely enjoy the date night with babe. We indulged our inner kid and had a blast. Life is way too short to take yourself too seriously. Someone there set up a booth doing caricatures. This was my first time getting one done. We gave the artist our permission for artistic reign and it came out perfect. I couldn’t be more happy! We stuffed our faces with funnel cake, fried dough, and pizza. Fellow couples sat down with us as we ate and chatted about the carnival and Buffalo in general. I got overpriced lemonade that was really ice water and a dash of lemon. We ended our night with fireworks near the water at Canalside. All in all, Tatyanna was a happy camper.

Our holiday turned out to be filled with simple good ol’ fun. I wouldn’t have it any other way. We enjoyed our first 4th of July together and can’t wait to see what’s next!
